Whipped Body Butter

Clean and dry all jars or storage vessels before you begin.  One jar of Kirkland Organic Coconut Oil fills between 8-10 4 ounce Ball Canning Jars.

For best results, use a mixer with a whisk attachment.  A food processor will work as well, using the S blade attachment.

Any organic coconut oil works well for this project.  If you have a membership to Costco, purchasing their coconut oil is recommended.  They offer the best price/ounce.

Coconut oil is very hard when it's placed in the mixer.  After 5 minutes on medium speed with a whisk attachment, the coconut oil transforms into a fluffy, whipped consistency.  Keep in mind that coconut oil will melt when it comes in contact with body temperature.  If you keep your house warm (above 75 degrees), it will be looser.  The cooler the indoor temperature, the harder the oil will be.

Fill your prepped jars.  I fill mine nearly to the top.  It is possible to fill them just to the bottom ring of the lid, but I want my clients to get more bang for their buck.

Create labels.  Avery offers a wide variety of options, that can be easily printed at home.  I chose labels from the Avery website, but due to a printer that does not want to line up properly with the Avery labels, I print on white cardstock.  I also use a 2 inch circular hole punch and adhesive to apply the labels to the lid.
